Crazy times

Well, now that things have calmed down I figured it's a good time to update the blog. The end of August went by way fast because of having Leila and adjusting to everything. September was way crazy. The first part of the month was spent in California with my family. My grandpa had a subdural hematoma and was given only 24 hours so my mom, sister, Karli, Leila, Danny and I raced out to San Jose. He passed away a few hours after we got there. John drove out to meet us with my brother in-law after he got off work the following day and stayed until just after the funeral. The girls and I however, stayed with my mom for a few extra days to spend more time with the family. It was really difficult to have lost my grandpa so suddenly but I know he is much happier where he is now. Even though it was under poor circumstances it was so great to see so much family while I was out there. There were people I haven't seen in at least 6 or 7 years so it was really great to catch up. We even got to go to a Giants game with a bunch of my cousins, aunt, and uncles. Once we got back home to Vegas we were only there for a week then it was off to Arizona to see my sister and her new baby. Mom went out there the day she had the baby then Danny, Amber, the girls and I went out that weekend. It was so much fun to see baby Austin, my sister and brother in-law. Austin is such a little cutie. John is working hard as always trying to keep up with his work and school load. I am so grateful for all that he does and all that he goes through for us. It is so wonderful to be able to be at home with the girls full time. I truly have been blessed. Here are some pictures of the girls as well as some at the Giants game...

Busy Busy

I know, I know, it's been forever since I updated the blog. At least I am doing it now though right? Well, much has been going on with us Hansens. The most exciting thing is that Miss Leila will be here no later than August 13th. My doctor scheduled me to be induced that day if she hasn't already come. Yea!!!! We are all so so so excited to have a new little one in the family. Karli especially. All she ever talks about is her little baby. She is constantly giving my tummy loves and kisses and talks to her sister too. It's so cute! I know she will be a big help once Leila is here.
John and I are in the process of buying a house. Our offer got picked by the seller to take to the bank, however, it is a short sale so it will be a while before we hear if we got accepted by the bank or not. It will be really great if everything goes through. It is less than a mile from where we are now so moving won't be too bad and we will still be really close to family. It's a cute little three bedroom two story house that is actually owned by some people in our ward so we know that it is in good condition. Here is the link for the virtual tour if you want to check it out: http://www.PropertyPanorama.com/mls.asp?id=69355
Mom and Dad moved back to Vegas almost a month ago now. Dad of course is doing the back and forth thing because of work but mom and Danny are here full time. It has been so nice having them around. Karli is of course loving being spoiled by her Tutu and Papa. She and Danny have a ton of fun playing together. Their favorite thing right now is hide and seek.
I finished my nanny job the first week of July so I have been enjoying the one on one time with Karli and not having to work around other people's schedules. It is so great being a stay at home mom! The Sunday after I stopped working I got released as the beehive advisor. I was really sad when it happened because the girls are great and I loved my calling but now I have more time to spend with John, Karli and soon to be Leila.
John is doing great. He is enjoying having nothing but work for the summer and has started playing volleyball on Saturday mornings with some friends from the ward. However, he is not looking forward to the loss of sleep he claims he is going to have once Leila is here. We'll see who is the one not sleeping. lol.

Well, this past week has been just a tad more eventful than most. I finished my first course cake decorating class at Michael's. It was nice to have some me time and learn some fun new stuff in the process. My first completed cake isn't the greatest or anything but definitely an improvement from the typical store bought frosting with nothing on it. I was actually going to do the cake for Alicia's baby shower next week but we are now going to be flying out to SJ so taking all my stuff just won't work. On Thursday Karli started the big girl gymnastics class. Which basically is the same as what she has been doing except I am not allowed in. Yep that's right instead of going in and doing it with her I am forced to stay outside and watch through a giant glass window with a bunch of other parents. Okay so it's not that bad but still it's so crazy to think she is already doing it on her own. She was so excited to be with all the other big kids.
Here are some pics and video of the cake and Karli:

Easter

Well, the past few weeks have been quite busy. I worked a lot more than usual, my parents and Danny came in from California and Karli has been sick off and on. The first time she was sick it was some kind of stomach bug that only lasted a day. This time I think it is some kind of cold or flu. She has had a fever since Thursday night and still has a bit of one now but not as bad. I hate when she is sick, she looks so sad. Hopefully by tomorrow or tuesday she will be better. John is also sick today. He seems better than he did this morning but still not great. I think this crazy schedule of his is really taking a toll.
Our Easter was pretty fun. On the Saturday before we went to an Easter egg hunt that the HOA put on. It was fun. They had egg hunts for the different age groups, bounce houses, inflatable slides, free food and of course the Easter bunny. It started off a bit rainy but then turned into a pretty nice day. Karli had a blast. When the egg hunt first started she didn't really know what to do so she just stood there while everyone ran past her. Once she unfroze she ran past the bulk of the kids and got a ton of eggs. Then we took her to the slide and bounce house. She would have stayed there all day if we let her. We had her picture taken with the Easter bunny and then had her face painted. It was so fun to get out and do something together as a family. My parents showed up later that day and stayed until early this morning. On Sunday we had the dedication of the new church building at 7am. It was really nice to have been able to go. My parents were still at home sleeping since they had a long day of travel on Saturday so we were able to just let Karli stay and sleep too. Neither John or I had been to a building dedication before. It was such a great experience and really set the tone for a great Easter Sunday. The spirit was so strong. After church Amber, Eric and Carson came over for dinner and an egg hunt for the kiddos. Cheri, Tyson and Jake joined us later for some games. It was a lot of fun. I am truly grateful for the time that we have had with family this past week. It will be nice to have my parents and Danny out here come July. Well, enough of my rambling. Here are some pictures. Enjoy. :)

We were wrong!

Okay so John and I really thought that we were going to be having a boy however, today's ultrasound proved us to be wrong. We are having another girl! We are so excited to start planning and choosing a name. Karli was so funny, when we told her it was a girl she said that there were two babies because daddy needed a boy baby. It was so cute! She is going to be a great big sister.

Karli's Birthday!

It's so crazy how time flys! Karli has turned into such a big girl all too fast. She turned 3 on the 23rd so last Saturday we had a family party for her. For some reason she has been really into Strawberry Shortcake so that was the theme of the party. Karli had so much fun and got some cool gifts. She got her first real bike with training wheels and absolutely loves it! It has been too windy to ride it outside yet but she has been having fun riding it around the house. Here are some pictures of the party and some video of her on her new bike:
